I snored since childhood, like... a lot. Some people couldn't even sleep next to me.
Last year (I was 21) I developped apnea during my sleep. A year ago my boyfriend told me : "Last night you stopped breathing again [he never told me about that]. I always wait the time you breath again, it makes me really anxious". I asked when did it start, but no idea.
I went to a general practionner : "not fat enough, bye". When I went to him about celiac disease months later : "not skinny enough". But things were going worse and worse.

Apneas, snoring and gluten stopped since august, altogether. When I went gluten and dairy free, no more sleeping disturbences. Like you, I also had a lot of insomnias - I had the feeling that I would die if I sleep, I couldn't explain it until I learnt that I stopped breathing, and that might be the cause why I had the feeling that sleeping = dying.
Now, gluten and dairy free, no more apneas, and for the first time of my life I dont snore anymore.
Useless to say that I feel MUCH better?

Take care of yourself ! :)

Thanks for so much for taking time to read, Jack.

That was a good idea to get the computer out of the bedroom. We did the same with the TV. That blue light is so harmful to good sleep. Since you have blackout curtains do you use an alarm to wake you up in the morning?

I have heard that there are alarms that use morning sounds to provide a gentle waking experience.

I know what you mean. When the kids are in bed, it's easy to get involved with reading or writing because there are no interruptions. The next thing you know, it's past midnight.

Love the Irish proverb! Sleep... it's so important to good health. I know that when I am stressed I have trouble sleeping, so trying to get the things I can off my list of things to stress over, really helps me a lot. This is a fantastic article and great information. Thanks for sharing it. Please come share your blog posts over at the Home Matters Linky Party! We have a VERY SPECIAL PARTY planned this week, and we'd love to have you for a visit. The Door Opens Friday! :)
