Hi Paul,
Thanks for reading.
I usually work out 5 times a week. Following that I make a protein drink & add the creatine to it. This way I get extra protein with the creatine. I work out at home so it’s just part of the process. I eat supper after this so I’m getting a good amount of protein. I’ve gained about 5 lbs of muscle since taking the creatine. At 68 I can’t afford to lose muscle.

This was a great read! At 59, I make it a priority to exercise and stay active, but I’ll admit—I don’t always give new routines enough time before moving on to something else. I’ve been curious about creatine and love the idea of adding it to my routine in a sustainable way. What would you say is a good strategy for sticking with it and remembering to take it consistently? Looking forward to giving it a try!

Be Well.

Thank you for reading Partha,

Here is the review from the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition concerning misconceptions about creatine.
Common questions and misconceptions about creatine supplementation: what does the scientific evidence really show?

Hey John,

Firstly, what a fantastic read, I really enjoyed this.

I'm so glad that you actually individually listed the "potential side effects" of creatine, and then stated that they just aren't true,

I totally agree.

In fact, as you've alluded to, a lot of these issues are simply caused by not sticking the recommended dosage.

I would also say that most of us don't actually require a loading phase with creatine, but rather just stick to the regular maintenance dose of 2-5grams per day.

Thank you also for the link to the PDF about the effects on skeletal muscle, bone, and brain.

I hadn't actually considered the impact creatine supplementation may have on the brain.

Reading the PDF now, thanks again, and as I say, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this.
