  • Cook pasta according to directions, drain, rinse and set aside.
  • Cook ground turkey in a skillet over medium heat, breaking up with a spatula for 3 minutes. Add onion, salt, and green pepper and cook for 8 minutes. Add marinara sauce, olives, and raisins.
  • Simmer, partially covered for 15 minutes until heated through. Add gluten free penne rigate to mixture and stir.

  • If you’re going to make homemade sauce, do that an hour before starting your picadillo and simmer it on the back burner of your stove.
  • To keep your pasta from sticking, stir it until it no longer settles on the bottom of the pot and when it’s ready, drain it and rinse it with water.
  • I use ground turkey in this recipe. Ground beef or ground pork also work well in this recipe.
  • I love this sweet and savory recipe. Feel free to change it up according to your taste. What would you include in your picadillo? Diced potatoes? Garlic? Cumin? It's up to you.
  • I toss my picadillo with pasta. You may choose to serve your picadillo with traditional beans and rice or tucked into a gluten free corn taco.
