This is my unbiased review of Bell & Evans gluten free breaded chicken breast nuggets.
When young children are diagnosed with celiac disease or gluten sensitivity, switching to a gluten free diet can be difficult. It is hard to find alternatives to their favorite foods.
That’s why I’m always excited when I discover kid-friendly gluten free foods like delicious mac & cheese or pizza or even chocolate chip cookies.
Today for lunch, my children enjoyed gluten free chicken nuggets thanks to Bell & Evans. Not only are these nuggets tasty and gluten free, they are also much healthier than the ones found in many kid’s meals at fast food chains.
This chicken tastes like real chicken, fresh and perfectly cooked.
Healthy Facts
Bell & Evans Gluten Free Breaded Chicken Breast Nuggets contain no chemical additives or preservatives. All Bell & Evans chickens are raised without antibiotics. The company assures, “They receive no antibiotics and no growth hormones in the feed, the water or even the egg…The Bell & Evans Humane Animal Standard™ insures all of our chickens are humanely raised and compassionately handled, in a minimal-stress environment, throughout their lives.” The nuggets are breaded with egg, rice flour, and yellow corn flour. They are flash fried in soybean oil to set the breading.
Quick and Easy Prep and Cook Time
Keep the nuggets frozen until you are ready to eat them. To cook the nuggets, preheat the oven to 375℉. The nuggets do not need to be defrosted before cooking.
Simply spread them on a baking sheet and bake them in the oven for 25-30 minutes. My family has only tried baking the nuggets, but Bell & Evans also suggests that they can be pan fried for 10-12 minutes.
Either way you choose, the nuggets are undoubtedly quick and easy to prepare.
Cooking Tips
The nuggets can be lightly salted or paired with your favorite dip. In my family, some of us enjoy the nuggets with gluten free barbecue sauce (check out our favorite products page for several options).
Others like to dip the nuggets in gluten free ketchup. And some of us prefer a more Asian twist with hot mustard or San J Organic Gluten Free Tamari Sauce.
Conclusion
These gluten free chicken nuggets are perfect if you’re having a busy morning and need something easy to prepare for lunch.
Just pop them in the oven while you finish working on your morning projects and voila! Surprise your kids with a hot meal for lunch.
The package comes with 12 ounces of chicken, enough to feed three hungry children. We definitely recommend these chicken nuggets.
In fact, they are no longer considered only a kid-friendly food as the whole family enjoys these nuggets and often seems to devour them in a matter of minutes.
I did not receive any compensation for writing this post. All opinions are completely my own.

I have a quick question regarding the prepared gluten-free foods. At one time I read that as much as 40% of the packaged gluten-free food actually have gluten in them… have you found this to be true, or have you ever had any problems with using prepared foods?
Thanks so much for helping us in providing gluten-free recipes! I wish I had had this kind of knowledge when I was preparing meals for my daughter who has problems digesting gluten. I just didn’t know it back then. 🙂

Hi Susan,
Gluten free living has certainly gotten a lot easier. In August, 2013, the FDA issued a final rule defining “gluten-free” for food labeling, which will help consumers, especially those living with celiac disease, be confident that items labeled “gluten-free” meet a defined standard for gluten content.
I trust Bell & Evans in particular. This is from their website: “All Bell & Evans Gluten Free products are produced at the beginning of a shift and only after all processing equipment has been thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. In addition to our sanitation and segregation protocols, we begin each new shift of Gluten Free production with Fresh, Non-Hydrogenated Soybean Oil.”
Mostly, we tend towards foods that are naturally gluten-free, on good meats, vegetables, good fats, fruits, and nuts. And I stick with the gluten free products that I am familiar with (listed on my favorite products page) https://www.glutenfreehomestead.com/favorite-gluten-free-products/
Have a blessed weekend.
