Radiant Skin Smoothie With Chia Seeds

Jump to Recipe - Print Recipe

You’ll love this green radiant skin smoothie. It’s made in your super blender including berries, greens, celery, apple and chia seeds which promote glowing skin. And it’s gluten free!

radiant skin smoothie

Today, I want to tell you a little secret – it’s all about the radiant skin smoothie! I know, the name may sound like a bold promise, but this smoothie is a game-changer for your skin, hair, and nails.

And the best part?  You can make it right in your kitchen.

Chia seeds: nutritional powerhouses

Recently, I was exploring the world of superfoods, and that’s when I found these little powerhouses – chia seeds!

These little dynamos are brimming with essential fatty acids, like omega-3 and omega-6 oils, that work wonders for your skin. So, I decided to incorporate them into a smoothie, and the results were beyond my wildest dreams.

Here’s more about the benefits of chia seeds.

While chia seeds work wonders in smoothies, they shine just as bright in these delightful coconut and almond dark chocolate bark.

Now this smoothie wasn’t just about chia seeds; I wanted to create a blend that would not only nourish my skin but also taste delicious.

The sweet juiciness of blueberries, the crispness of apple, the freshness of lettuce and spinach, and the refreshing essence of celery, all come together in a balance of flavor and nutrition.

But let me share a little secret within the secret: I always opt for milled chia seeds. That way, you skip the hassle of soaking them, making the whole process even smoother (pun intended).

The organic touch

Ah, and before I forget, I must mention one more essential element: organic produce. Whenever possible, I recommend using organic fruits and veggies to ensure you’re treating your body and skin with the utmost care.

Organic produce is free of harmful chemicals and pesticides, which means you’re giving your body pure, unadulterated goodness.

Now, here comes the exciting part! I want you to experience the best radiant skin smoothie recipe with chia seeds for yourself.

Once you take that first sip and feel the nutrients flowing through your body, you’ll be hooked.

So, grab those ingredients, hit the blender, and let the nutritious drink unfold.

Instructions

*Free printable recipe card is available at the end of the post.

Here’s how to make your easy and nutritious chia seed smoothie. If you have a super blender, just place all ingredients into the container in this order.

First wash the produce thoroughly. Then add a cup of water to your blender followed by the chia seeds.

Next comes lettuce.

Today, I have romaine lettuce. You can go with iceberg lettuce or whichever type of lettuce you prefer. Just a handful.

Then, the cored and chopped apple.

Today, I have a Granny Smith apple. They have a lower sugar content than other varieties like Red or Golden Delicious. You can go with whichever type of apple you prefer.

And now it’s time for the blueberries. When I buy fresh berries, I keep them in the freezer if I’m not going to eat them right away. Frozen berries make the smoothie thicker.

If you’d like, you may also add frozen banana for a creamy thicker smoothie.

Pro tip for freezing bananas: When you have overripe bananas on your hands, don’t toss them away. Peel them, chop into halves or chunks, and flash freeze them in a single layer on a parchment paper-lined cookie sheet for about two hours. This is so that they don’t freeze into one big clump.

Then, you can transfer them to a zip lock freezer bag and they won’t stick together. They’ll keep in your freezer for about 6 months to use in smoothies or baking as needed.

A fresh banana is ok, but a frozen banana adds sweetness and a velvety smoothness to our smoothie.

Finally, add a few ice cubes to make it cool and frothy.

We keep the heavier ice to add last on top of the mixture. This will get the blender moving faster and prevent stalling.

Secure the lid and set the Vitamix to the pre-programmed Smoothie setting and start the machine. It will automatically shut off once the cycle is complete.

There you go. Easy peasy. An organic chia seed smoothie for glowing skin!

And guess what? Chia seeds can also be made into Warm Chia Pudding.

Pro tips and recipe notes

1. Can I use a food processor to make this smoothie? Yes, if you don’t have a super blender, a food processor can be used to prepare this smoothie.

2. Can I use whole chia seeds instead of milled ones?
Yes, you can, but milled chia seeds blend more easily without the need for soaking.

3. Are there any alternatives to blueberries and apples in the smoothie?
Feel free to get creative with your fruit choices! Raspberries, strawberries, or pears could work wonderfully.

4. Is the Radiant Skin Smoothie gluten-free?
Yes, it is gluten-free, as chia seeds are naturally gluten-free.

5. Can I add other ingredients like protein powder or nut butter?

Sure! Any liquid of your choice can be used as a base.

7. Is the smoothie suitable for vegetarians and vegans?

9. Can I freeze the smoothie for later consumption?
Yes! Even freezing it in popsicle molds will make a refreshing pop for those hot summer days.

So, raise your glass to healthier, happier skin!
