This gluten free joint soothing smoothie is quick and easy to whip up.
Today, I’ve got something special for you – a smoothie that will soothe your joints! It’s the newest addition to my collection of smoothies and drinks.
If you’ve been feeling those aches and pains lately, the solution may lie in the power of nutrient-dense foods.
So, I’m talking about those days when your knees creak and your wrists groan. Ouch! Inflammation can be a real pain – literally!
Drawing inspiration from nature’s own inflammation-fighting warriors, this shake is designed to rejuvenate our bodies.
It’a a refreshing and vibrant blend that not only appeases those cranky joints but also fills your body with a burst of nutrients and flavors.
Joint soothing smoothie
In this beverage, we celebrate some of the powerhouses that tame inflammation. A dash of fiery cayenne pepper adds a kick to the mix, revving up circulation and boosting metabolic fire.
Likewise, a pinch of cayenne pepper gives a flavorful kick to not just this smoothie but also my Savory Chicken Stir Fry, Cajun Jambalaya, and soups like, Easy Creamy Broccoli Cheddar Soup — each recipe gets a zesty twist.
Not to be outdone, ginger brings its healing touch, soothing those achy joints. You can grate fresh ginger on the small holes of your box grater or microplane or use ground ginger as I do in my Chicken And Broccoli In Gluten Free Stir Fry Sauce.
And let’s not forget the pungent punch of garlic – nature’s little flavor bomb that also boasts anti-inflammatory properties. With this mighty trio leading the charge, our joints are in good hands.

Beyond the Spices
But we don’t stop there! This smoothie is a treasure trove of nutrient-dense ingredients that fuel our bodies from the inside out.
Sweet carrots packed with beta-carotene, a handful of baby spinach teeming with iron and antioxidants, and lacinto kale leaves, rich in vitamins and minerals.
Next, we invite a stalk of celery and a handful of parsley to join the party. And finally, the sweet raw beets, bringing their earthy sweetness and vibrant ruby color to the mix.
I recommend organic produce free of chemicals and pesticides, whenever possible.
Pro tip:
Now, when dealing with beets, there’s a little trick to tame their staining prowess. Scrub, slice, and dice these powerful roots with care, ensuring they don’t paint your kitchen purple.
But don’t worry, water holds the key to dissolving these beet-based stains, they’ll come out quite readily if they’ve not had time to dry.
Got leftover beets? Transform them into Pickled Beets or a hearty Instant Pot Beetroot Soup!
Okay. Are you ready to make this smoothie? Gather your ingredients and you’ll be sipping your soothing smoothie in no time.

The best way to make this smoothie is in a super blender. I have the Vitamix Professional Series 500. It’s over 9 years old and still going strong. It has an easy smoothie preset button so it only takes seconds to make.
First wash the produce thoroughly. Then add a cup of water to your blender followed by kale, spinach, and parsley. Next, garlic and ginger. Then, carrots, cucumber, beets, and celery.
Finally, add a few ice cubes to make it cool and frothy.
We keep the heavier ice to add last on top of the mixture. This will get the blender moving faster and prevent stalling.
Secure the lid and set the super blender to the pre-programmed Smoothie setting and start the machine. It will automatically shut off once the cycle is complete.
If your blender doesn’t have a pre-programmed setting, Select Variable 1.Turn the machine on and slowly increase speed to Variable 10, then to High. Blend for 1 minute.
Now, pour each portion into an 8 ounce glass, top with a dash of cayenne pepper, and stir.
And that’s it! Easy peasy.

Hi Barbara,
Your blog is exactly what the Doctor ordered today–Doctor me that is!
Can you please tell me the benefits of juicing vs. blended smoothies?
Thanks,
Blaze
Barbara says
Excellent question.
Juicing takes the pulp (fibre) away leaving only the juice so the nutrients are delivered to your cells more quickly. This is good for folks recovering from disease. However, I have used 2 day green smoothie fasts to successfully fight off infection. Blended smoothies include the whole food with all the essential fiber. So smoothies are more filling. Also, you can add supplements to your smoothie that you wouldn’t necessarily add to a juice because they’d change the texture.
I juiced on and off for years, but I disliked the extra clean up time. With a high powered blender like the Vitamix, clean up is real fast and easy and you can make the smoothies, plus soups, salsa, sauces, and dips.
Hope this helps.

That looks good, and sounds like something I want to try… How does it taste, though?
Barbara says
Hot! Yes, I’ll admit the cayenne pepper is hot, but I do like the taste of the beets.
As far as vegetable smoothies go, though, folks find that as these healthy drinks are added to the daily diet the body craves less junk food and veggies actually taste delicious.
You may want to start with one of the smoothies that contain sweet fruits. When you get used to taste you can add more greens. Spinach and kale are mild tasting.
